RAW BALANCE

Acupuncture

Acupuncture Service

Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is believed there is a flow of energy (Chi) that runs through our body and where this energy becomes blocked our systems become out of balance and we become ill. Acupuncture is a medical treatment that can help unblock the ‘energy flow’ and bring about balance within the body’s intricate systems.

As an alternative form of treatment, Acupuncture is now recognised and used in the Western World along side traditional medicine to treat a wide range of common health conditions from musculoskeletal pain to tobacco dependency.

Acupuncture is used to help relieve:

  • Musculoskeletal pain; lower back, neck, shoulder, hip, knee pain
  • Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, neuralgia,
  • Migraine, headaches, Hypertension,
  • Dental pain, tennis elbow
  • Anxiety, depression, insomnia
  • Digestive problems, Nausea
  • Infertility, menstrual cramps, menopause symptom
  • Allergies, Asthma
  • Tobacco dependency.

How is Acupuncture administered?

The practitioner inserts a number of fine sterile needles into the skin at specific sites (acupoints) on the body, this stimulates the body to unblock the energy flow, restore balance and kick start the body’s own process of self healing.

Treatment Plans

Before any treatment commences, you will need to fill out a medical questionnaire, which the practitioner will discuss with you. Be as honest as possible. After which the practitioner will recommend a suitable treatment plan. This will include, the areas to be targeted and why and the number of treatments.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments will vary from person to person.

Some patients experience great relief after 1-2 treatments, others with more complex or long standing conditions may require weekly treatments over a number of weeks.

Does it hurt?

Do I need to rest after?

After the needles are removed you can go about your day as normal.
